Jessica Marengo

Scholarship - Northeastern University

Jessica is currently attending Northeastern University in Boston on an academic scholarship. She was accepted into the six-year Doctor of Physical Therapy program.

After earning her degree, she hopes to not only work with dance-related injuries, but to use her understanding of dance to help encourage injury prevention and the development of healthy habits in dancers.

Jessica began dancing at the age of 3 years old and started at Draper Center in 2004 at the age of 10 years old when her family moved to Rochester. While being a member of the Professional Training Program at Draper, Jessica completed the International Baccalaureate Diploma Program and maintained a grade point average above 4.0. She was an active participant in several school clubs and the National Honor Society.

Jessica would like to thank the faculty at the Draper Center for not only developing her dance education, but for also fostering her love of the arts. Additionally, Jessica would like to thank the staff and company of the Rochester City Ballet for the opportunity to expand her understanding of the dance world from a production angle, and for the chance to continue to grow and learn during a period marked by injury.
