Jill Marlow Krutzkamp

Jill Marlow began her training at Draper Center for Dance Education in Rochester, New York, under the direction of Timothy Draper and Jamey Throumoulos Leverett. Additionally, Ms. Marlow spent time training at American Ballet Theatre, Boston Ballet, and Indiana University.

She began her professional ballet career at the age of 20 at Cincinnati Ballet where she supplemented works for the Sleeping Beauty and The Nutcracker.

Finishing her first contract with Cincinnati for their 2002-2003 season, she accepted a Corps de Ballet Contract with Pittsburgh where she had amazing opportunities dancing such roles as the Sugar Plum Fairy, Hermia in Balanchine’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Balanchine’s Divertimento no. 15 and featured contemporary roles.

After much contemplation, Ms. Marlow decided to sign back with the Cincinnati Ballet where she spent her next 8 seasons. Throughout those 8 seasons, Jill became a staple of the company and inspired many Cincinnati audiences. Some of her most notable classical roles with Cincinnati Ballet have included; Titania in A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Lilac Fairy in Sleeping Beauty, Sugar Plum Fairy in The Nutcracker, Fairy Godmother in Cinderella, Juliet in Victoria Morgan’s Romeo and Juliet Balcony Pas de deux, and Pas de Trois in Swan Lake and Gisele. Jill also performed the principal Waltz girl in Balanchine’s Serenade, as well as other Balanchine ballets including, Theme and Variations, Chaconne (with Suzanne Farrell at the Kennedy Center), and Four Temperaments.

In 2011, Ms. Marlow and her husband, dancer Anthony Krutzkamp, decided to sign contracts and move further west to join the Kansas City Ballet. Within KCB, Jill has had the opportunity to dance lead roles in Carmina Burana, Lynn Taylor Corbett’s Mercury, Jerome Robbin’s Fancy Free, the principal in Allegro Brilliante, and is preparing to hit the stage as Sugar Plum Fairy.

Ms. Marlow enjoys being as versatile as possible and thoroughly enjoys dancing contemporary works, which she thanks Draper for teaching her the comfort of movement quality. Some of her most memorable contemporary roles have included works by Trey McIntyre, Adam Hougland, Twyla Tharp, Ma Cong, Val Caniporoli, Jessica Lang, Luca Vegetti, Adam Hougland, and Jody Gates.

Ms. Marlow has been fortunate to be a guest artist in Michigan, Ohio, West Virginia, New York, California, Alaska, Florida, Tennessee, Colorado and ballet festivals around the country.

Besides dancing, Jill is the company manager of the Kansas City Dance Festival founded in 2013 by Anthony Krutzkamp and Logan Pachciarz, is Pilate certified and is the author of the blog, dancehealthier.com. Once receiving her Pilates training through Balanced Body, Jill co-opened a Performance Rehab Physical Therapy/ Pilates clinic, specializing in dance medicine in Kansas City. From 2016-2017, Jill was an adjunct instructor for the dance division of UMKC conservatory. From 2017-2019, she taught and managed at Nephesh Pilates in Sacramento, California. She now teaches at Sacramento Ballet for the School, 2nd Company, & Main Company. In 2020, Jill started Moveheathier, a Pilates & Wellness business.
