JENNY HOLAHAN

Jazz Instructor

Ballet and dance instructor - Brittany Shinay - Ballet School, Monroe County, Rochester NY

Jenny Holahan grew up dancing in the Rochester area, and earned her BFA in Dance Performance from the State University of New York (SUNY) at Buffalo. During her time at UB she performed with the Zodiaque Dance Company, under the direction of Tom Ralabate, and began shifting her focus toward Musical Theatre performance. After graduating she traveled the world performing on Royal Caribbean Cruise Line, where she worked with world-renowned choreographers in shows ranging from broadway style, to ballroom, to aerial circus style. Jenny then relocated to New York City where she trained and worked professionally for nearly twelve years.

Some favorite show/performance credits include: The North American Tour of Spamalot, Billy Elliot at Ogunquit Playhouse, How to Succeed… at Theatre by the Sea, Les Mis and Happy Days at West Virginia Public Theatre, 4 years of performing in benefits for Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS (BCEFA), and Cycle 2 of The Broadway Dance Lab (now known as The Dance Lab NY) under the direction of Josh Prince. While in NYC Jenny took class regularly with incredible teachers like Josh Bergasse, Al Blackstone, and Jim Cooney. Jenny also ventured into the fitness industry in 2014, and taught at several prestigious boutique studios in NYC. She has experience in several modalities of exercise and personal training, bringing this expertise into her dance training as well.

Jenny moved back to Rochester in 2020 and is excited to bring her knowledge and love of Jazz and Musical Theatre to the students at Draper. She hopes to encourage them to find the joy of movement while continuing to grow their technique and skills.
