Draper Center receives $5,000 for Ballet Jump Start!
Draper Center for Dance Education has received a $5,000 grant from Rochester Area Community Foundation for its Ballet Jump–start! programming. Through the Ballet Jump–start! programming, Draper Center provides free dance classes to all 3 and 4 year olds in Monroe County and the surrounding areas. This program gives many who would never be exposed to an arts education or classical ballet, an introduction into the world of dance and the many benefits it can provide.
Jamey Leverett, artistic director Draper Center states, “We are so grateful to receive support from the Rochester Area Community Foundation. We are proud of this program and sincerely believe that diversifying the art form at its training level will strengthen and broaden the pipeline of diverse artists in the future and help ensure ballet’s continued relevance in the 21st century”.
Draper Center’s mission is to provide the highest level of classical ballet and dance training, while adhering to a curriculum that teaches formation of character and stresses standards of excellence applicable to all areas of life.
